Darius Athenos was nominated in 2011 for the James Beard Foundation’s Best New Restaurant award for his highly successful restaurant in Culver City – “Waterloo and City”. "Amazing addition to the area. I can comfortably admit the lamb gyro is the best I've ever had. The tzatziki sauce is sooo good. I had an urge to order the black eyed peas which were surprisingly enjoyable. The staff is so friendly, the owner gave me a free desert after asking about it. I'll be back for sure!"
"Without doubt the best Greek food I've since I was in Greece!!! My son and I had the home made hummus with pita, the lemon pot Oakes and then a couple of falafel gyros which were amazing. The Falafels were perfectly cooked and melted in your mouth. I can't recommend this new spot highly enough!!"
"Come here often and every time has been excellent quality, flavor, and service. I usually order the lamb gyro and beet salad. Both are super fresh and refreshing... they use really fresh ingredients only and real feta cheese. I keep saying I'm going to try other items but it's hard because the lamb gyro and beet salad are so on point."
